About This Program

Accidental Death & Severe Injury coverage — commonly known as Accidental Death and Dismemberment, or AD&D — offers coverage amounts from $10,000 up to $300,000, and is guaranteed issue, so there's no medical exam or health questions required.

Severe injury coverage provides protection for loss of limbs, as well as loss of sight, speech or hearing, and paralysis. Even if you already have life insurance, this affordable plan may add an extra layer of coverage for accidental deaths.

This is accident coverage. Benefits are payable for covered losses resulting from a covered accident. It is designed to add to the life insurance you may already have, not to replace it. The policy contains reductions, limitations, and termination provisions.

Why It Matters

01

An Extra Layer for Your Family

Accidents can happen at any time, and having additional coverage in place can make a huge difference for your loved ones. Even if you already have life insurance, this affordable plan may add an extra layer of coverage for accidental deaths.

02

No Medical Exam, No Health Questions

Coverage is guaranteed issue, so there's no medical exam or health questions required. If you've been putting off coverage because of the process, this removes that step entirely.

03

Severe Injury, Not Just Death

Severe injury coverage provides protection for loss of limbs, as well as loss of sight, speech or hearing, and paralysis. A serious accident you survive can change your finances as much as one you don't.

04

You Choose the Amount

Benefit amounts start at $10,000 and go up to $300,000, so you can size the coverage to your family's situation rather than taking a single fixed plan.

Covered Losses

Coverage can apply to a range of losses resulting from a covered accident, including:

Accidental loss of life
Loss of sight of an eye
Loss of hand or loss of foot
Loss of thumb and index finger
Loss of speech or loss of hearing
Paralysis — quadriplegia, hemiplegia, paraplegia, or uniplegia

Why You Need This

Real situations where this coverage does the work

Your Life Insurance Isn't Enough on Its Own

You have a policy through work or on your own, but it was sized years ago and your family's costs have grown since. This plan may add an extra layer of coverage for accidental deaths, on top of what you already carry.

Benefit: Accidental Death — $10,000 to $300,000

A Serious Accident You Survive

An accident that costs you a hand or a foot changes how you earn for the rest of your life. Loss of one hand, one foot, or sight of one eye pays 50% of your accidental death benefit amount; the loss of any two pays 100%.

Benefit: Severe Injury — 50% or 100% of the death benefit

An Injury That Affects Mobility

Paralysis is a covered loss. Quadriplegia pays 100% of your accidental death benefit amount, hemiplegia and paraplegia pay 50%, and uniplegia pays 25%. The loss must last longer than 365 days as determined by a physician approved by the insurer.

Benefit: Paralysis — 25%, 50%, or 100% of the death benefit

You've Been Putting Off Getting Covered

Medical exams and health questionnaires are the reason a lot of people never finish an application. This coverage is guaranteed issue, so there's no medical exam or health questions required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Accidental Death & Severe Injury coverage?

It is accidental death and severe injury coverage, commonly known as Accidental Death and Dismemberment, or AD&D. It pays a benefit for covered losses resulting from a covered accident, including loss of life, loss of hand or foot, loss of sight of an eye, loss of thumb and index finger, loss of speech or hearing, and paralysis.

Do I need a medical exam to qualify?

No. Coverage is guaranteed issue, so there's no medical exam or health questions required.

What benefit amounts are available?

Accidental death benefit amounts of $10,000 and $25,000 are available, along with $50,000 to $300,000 in $50,000 increments.

How are severe injury benefits calculated?

They are paid as a percentage of your accidental death benefit amount, set by the policy schedule. Quadriplegia and the more severe combined losses pay 100%. Loss of one hand, one foot, sight of one eye, speech, or hearing, along with hemiplegia and paraplegia, pay 50%. Loss of thumb and index finger and uniplegia pay 25%. Only the single largest applicable benefit is paid per accident.

What if I have more than one covered loss in the same accident?

Only the single largest applicable benefit amount is paid. Benefits for multiple covered losses from one accident do not add together.

Are there time limits on when a loss has to occur?

Yes. Loss of life must occur within 365 days of the accident. Severe injury losses also carry a 365-day time period, and the paralysis definitions require that the loss of motion and practical use last longer than 365 days as determined by a physician approved by the insurer.

Is there an age limit?

Coverage ends when the policyholder reaches age 65. For a covered person age 65 or older on the date of an accident, benefit amounts are reduced on a schedule: 65% at ages 65–69, 45% at 70–74, 30% at 75–79, and 15% at 80 and over. All covered persons must be U.S. residents and maintain a primary residence in the United States.

Does it cover losses that happen while I'm working?

Not in every occupation. The policy excludes losses sustained while on the job in certain industries, including construction trades, trucking, agriculture, and delivery or rideshare platform driving. This applies whether you are an employee, an independent contractor, or self-employed. Check the full exclusions in the policy before you buy.

Can I have this if I already have life insurance?

Yes. Even if you already have life insurance, this affordable plan may add an extra layer of coverage for accidental deaths.
